Aldi’s sell-out winter gadget to avoid putting the heating on returning TOMORROW

AN essential energy-saving gadget is returning to Aldi stores tomorrow and it’s the perfect thing if you’re hoping to keep the heating off this winter.

The budget store confirmed it will be releasing its sell-out Silentnight heated throw again this week in time for Christmas.

The £39.99 energy-saving gadget causes a frenzy each time it returns to shops.

Shoppers have been reviewing the winter gadget on Facebook.

When one user asked if anyone knew when the electric throw would be coming back in stock, others said it was well worth the wait.

One user said: “This is what I need.”

Another said: “Got mine from The Range last year Love it. Central heating doesn’t go on as much.”

“These are amazing, I used mine a lot last year. Cheap to run,” said a third.

The electric throws are approximately 120cm by 160cm and come with a 3.6-metre cable plus a detachable controller.

You can feel secure as the throw features overheat protection and a three-hour auto-off function.

Aldi reckons the electric throw will cost you just 3p an hour.

Checkatrade estimates that the average cost of running your heating per kilowatt-hour is around 7p.

For a 24kW boiler that’s about £1.68 an hour so this is much cheaper.

You will have to head into stores if you want this gadget as they won’t be available for online delivery.

You can use the Aldi store finder tool to locate your nearest Aldi store.

Always make sure you shop around to see if you can find the item for a better deal elsewhere.

You can buy the Silentnight heated throw directly from the Silentnight website in navy, grey or blush but they won’t come cheap.

Each fleece throw is priced at £45.

Other retailers have electric throws for a similar price, Argos currently has a heated throw for £50, and it boasts a nine-hour timer and six heat settings.

Lakeland has a Black Friday deal on their electric heated throw and it’s now down to £53.99, from £89.99.

The Range has a Divante electric Blanket for £44.99 or a Teddy Sherpa electric blanket for £49.99.

Prices vary by brand, size and retailer so it’s worth having a browse elsewhere before you make a decision.

It’s especially worth checking if you can spot an electric heated throw or blanket in the Black Friday sales.

Keeping warm this winter

There are a few other things you can do to keep warm this winter without breaking the bank.

Get yourself a hot water bottle, they are always great for a cost-free way of keeping warm.

Don’t forget about preventative measures, draught-proof your home and seal your windows to stop air coming in.

Prices for draught excluders start from a fiver in most stores but a thick blanket rolled up will work just as well.

Loft insulation is also very important as it can stop heat escaping, therefore slashing your heating bill.

You can buy insulation from all local builder merchants or retailers such as B&Q and Wickes.
