The model said in a message on April 21 that she and the Endless Love star, with whom she has a 21-month-old daughter named Luca, are getting a divorce after being married for two years.
Toni wrote on her Instagram Story, “Alex and I have made the very hard choice to split up.” “We will keep being friends and share the parenting of our angel Luca.”
Alex hasn’t said anything in public about what Toni said, but on April 22, he posted a picture to his Instagram Story of what looks like Luca on a swing. He wrote “Happiness” next to the picture.
Alex and Toni were first seen together at Elton John’s Oscars party in February 2019. This was before they broke up. Later that same year, right before Christmas, Alex popped the question.
Toni wrote on Instagram at the time, “Christmas Eve, the love of my life surprised me on his knees asking me to be his forever. He changed my life the day we met and showed me what love really is – so yes I cannot wait to spend every day (well almost) of my life with you @alexpettyfer.”
The two finally got married in 2020. A source said that they said “I do” at the Berner Schloss castle in Hamburg, Germany, which is where the model grew up.
Toni wore a gold slip dress to the event, as seen in a picture that was posted to both of their Instagram accounts at the time. Alex, on the other hand, wore a green tweed suit. On her page next to the picture, Toni wrote, “Now you can really call me wifey.”
The next year, Toni shared a video of a shoot she did for Vogue Germany in which she talked about how excited she was for this new step and how she was pregnant with their first child.
“The best thing about being pregnant is definitely waking up every morning and knowing I’m pregnant,” Toni said in the clip. “It’s the most beautiful, happy feeling. I touch my belly immediately and am super excited to have my little one inside me.”
When their baby girl was born, Toni said that it was “the most magical experience of my life” to meet her.
On Instagram on July 19, 2021, the model wrote about their baby girl, “She immediately stole our hearts forever.”
