Body language expert Darren Stanton said that Holly Willoughby looked “nervous” on her return to This Morning on Monday, while Alison Hammond seemed “relaxed” and “confident” and could “command a room.”
The host, who is 42 years old, had been on her usual summer break, when the show was hosted by several other people. Stanton said that Holly’s first show back seemed “uncertain,” while Alison made presenting look “effortless” and “smooth.”
Darren, who was speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, noticed Holly’s body language and said that her fidgeting on camera was a sign that she was impatient and worried.
He then said that he saw the presenter “tilting away” from Alison when she was sat on the sofa. This suggests that Alison’s presence is “overwhelming” for her.
Darren said, “Alison seems very calm, at ease, and sure of herself. She makes it look like it’s nothing. When Holly is hosting, it’s clear that she needs her co-hosts, but Alison could take over the room.
“When the pair were standing up and speaking to the camera, Alison had her hands down to her front, while Holly had her hands to the side as well as touching her fingers.”
Alison is very energetic and seems very sure of herself, but when Holly sits next to her on the sofa during their presentation as a pair, Holly leans to the left. This shows that she thinks Alison’s presence is too much. It’s a way to say, ‘This is too much for me.’
This Morning hasn’t had a good year since the Philip Schofield incident in May. The show has been in a lot of trouble since then.
While that was going on, ITV fans called Holly Willoughby’s musical comeback on This Morning “peak cringe.”
