Indian designers are currently facing a global moment, particularly in the last couple of years. The latest example is Deepika Padukone, who attended the BAFTAs in a beige sequinned sari from Sabyasachi to present an award. Or take pop icon Beyoncé, who has been showing a lot of love to Gaurav Gupta’s designs and recently made an appearance at the Luar show at NYFW in a silver look that screamed couture. Even the 2024 Grammy Awards saw two looks from Indian couturiers, Rahul Mishra and Gaurav Gupta.
