ATLANTA – The No. 18 Texas A&M men’s tennis team heads to the Peach State to compete against the Georgia Southern Eagles Thursday, January 25, at the Byers Tennis Complex, with first serve set for 2 p.m. CT.
The Maroon & White are coming off a win at UCLA, 4-3. A&M dominated the Bruins in doubles and carried that momentum into singles, where freshman Tiago Pires clinched the victory in straight sets over his opposition. With a win, head coach Steve Denton would inch one win closer to 350 as he will go into Thursday’s match with 348.
“I am excited to get to play in Georgia after a week in California,” Denton said. “Georgia Southern will be a solid test and I look forward to having a good match there before the ITA Kickoff. I think it is great preparation as we will need to be razor sharp this next weekend.”
This will be the first meeting between the Aggies and Eagles. Georgia Southern (0-3) will be looking for its first victory of the year.
