WACO – The 10th-ranked Texas A&M women’s tennis team defeated Harvard 6-1 and Abilene Christian University 7-0 in dual matches at Baylor’s Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
A&M (2-2) was scheduled to play the matches at the Mitchell Tennis Center to open the Aggies’ home season, but weather forced them to be moved to Waco.
A&M’s Mia Kupres and Lucciana Perez each had singles victories in both matches. Kupres and Mary Stoiana teamed up for doubles victories in both matches.
The Aggies next will host the ITA Kickoff Weekend along with Northwestern, Texas Christian and Rice next Saturday and Sunday. A&M will play Northwestern at 2 p.m. on Saturday while Rice takes on TCU.
