Amber Heard Pays Ex-Husband Johnny Depp a $1 Million Settlement

After a very public trial, the American actress Amber Heard has finally given her ex-husband Johnny Depp the $1 million settlement payment they agreed on. The actor from “Fantastic Beasts” said he would give the money to five of his favorite causes.

After fighting in court for five long, painful years, they finally settled the defamation case last year, with the court siding with Depp. Heard had said that Depp had abused her while they were married for more than a year.

She will be back on the big screen with her new movie, “In the Fire,” which will be shown for the first time at a film festival in Italy this month.

In the first case, which took place in London, the judge ruled in favor of Heard. However, in the second case, which took place in Fairfax, Virginia, the judge ruled in favor of Depp. After that, Heard was told to pay her ex-spouse $10 million in reasonable damages and $5 million in punitive damages, which were later cut down to $360,000.

While that was happening, their lawyers decided that Depp would pay her $2 million in damages for defamation. A few months later, TMX has said that Heard’s insurance company has given Depp $1 million.
