LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – The 12th annual Trykes N Tread car show kicked off in Lawton Saturday where sponsors donated six amtrykes.

The car show was one attraction which featured different eras of cars that were tricked out with different colors and features.

Six people received brand new trykes during the event thanks to sponsors from across Southwest Oklahoma.

Amtrykes are for children and adults living with disabilities, these machines allow them to experience riding a bike in a non-traditional way.

One organizer shared the feeling of seeing the recipients with their new rides.

”When they sit on it for the first time or for the first time in a long time because for whatever reason they are not able to ride a bike”, Co-chair Kristina Keller said. “That’s it for me, hands down.”

The event also serves as a fundraiser. All money raised will go towards buying new amtrykes.
