Amy Robach’s $4 million apartment is ‘unpolished & a kitchen detail is tacky’

AMY Robach’s affair with TJ Holmes got her fired from her high-profile job and meant waving goodbye to her luxurious West Village family home.

Now according to an interior designer, the decor in Amy’s latest home shows she has not given her new environment much thought.

On Sunday, Amy, 50, shared an Instagram video of herself sitting and playing with her dog, Brody, in her current New York apartment.

Amy’s clip showed her decor as the Maltipoo chased his toy around the living room.

Interior designer Michele Pelafas said Amy’s pad looked “too minimal,” and the furnishing choice showed “a nod to simpler times.”

The $4 million apartment was flooded with light and boasted luxurious teak flooring.

“Amy’s apartment looks neat and tidy when alone with the dog,” Pelafas told The U.S. Sun.

“But at the same time, the decor and furnishings are too minimal.

“It lacks a strong unifying element to make the home feel polished.

“I see contemporary art paired with mid-century, modern furniture with western accessories, and even a baroque mirror.

“Amy gave her home decor some thought, but she now must finish the thought and bring it all together.

“Because the space does not feel complete, Amy might have different priorities in her life.”

Amy’s social media posts show how she spends time at her home with her boyfriend, TJ Holmes, 46.

The father of one rents an apartment nearby.

In several clips of the pair in the kitchen, the room looked cluttered with alcohol bottles.

Pelafas claimed the countertops worked well, but the strewn bottles were “tacky.”

“The quartz countertops in the kitchen and the white cabinets compliment the furnishing,” she said.

“The bottles of alcohol lined up on the counter are tacky and out of place.

“Bar carts are trendy right now — Amy would benefit from a stylish one to store and display all those bottles more appropriately.

“She could add her personal touch by accessorizing it with barware, cocktail books, and decorative items to reflect her style.

“She has a fun personality, and a bar cart would make her entertaining at home feel more special.”

Amy moved into her three-bedroom apartment sometime in late 2023.

Her last home in the West Village was sold in 2022, just before her affair with TJ was exposed.

Amy and her now ex-husband, Andrew Shue, 56, had the place listed for over $5 million.

When Amy and TJ lost their TV jobs, their home lives changed forever.

She divorced Melrose Place alum Andrew, while TJ filed for divorce from lawyer Marilee Fiebig, 46.

Since their podcast launched, Amy and TJ have opened up about their relationship and new life story.

In November, they returned to social media.

Amy’s videos show her home backdrops, including antler heads and a mix of furnishing and accessories.

“Antler decor is trending right now,” said Pelafas.

“This can make a bold statement and invite the beauty of wildlife into the indoors.

“I see this type of wall decor above a mantel or as part of a gallery wall in a ranch-inspired interior.

“I appreciate the attempt to make a statement; even the most modern interiors can include a Western touch in this space.

This all may even be a nod to simpler times.

Michele Pelafas

“The antler decor feels lost, and the size and scale are off to me.

“But it is clear that Amy enjoys the outdoors.

“Western flair can be very grounding; she may be trying to capture that in her home.

“This all may even be a nod to simpler times.”

Pelefas questioned the flooring.

“The one other thing that stands out to me the most is the teak flooring,” she added.

“If the space had a beautiful distressed wood floor instead of the exotic wood, this would provide a bolder statement.

“This could become the single unifier that this space needs.

“From a color perspective, the teak floor feels out of place the most to me.

“More area rugs to de-emphasize the floor would help.

“Amy should also think about stronger textures.

“There are a lot of different shapes, styles, and design elements happening in the space.

“They lend themselves to both urban and contemporary as well as modern and mid-century with a western theme.

“With such a diverse array of styles, I would call this space eclectic.”

Amy’s rental includes a private patio and a second separate outdoor space.

The main bedroom has a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom with a double vanity and marble countertops.

There is also a separate shower stall.

Pelafas said she did like the color scheme.

“I like the neutral palette of the furniture and the pieces themselves,” she said.

“I would recommend adding more texture to the pieces, such as oversized furry pillows.

“These would create a cozy, homey environment and further emphasize the Western flair.

There is no strong unifying theme to ensure everything works together.

Michele Pelafas

“I would replace the coffee table with something more oversized, textured, and distressed in a wood or stone.

“I would suggest combining the two for a bold outdoor statement.

“The furniture looks to be of good quality.

“The couch, in particular, would look more expensive with a few more pillows to bring in the western decor element.

“This would help bring the space together more effectively.

“When it comes to designing an eclectic interior, it is very important that the space look effortless.

“However, there is no strong unifying theme to ensure everything works together.”
