An Orlando Reporter Cries on Air As She Covers The Shooting Death Of A Colleague

A Florida reporter wept during a painful live broadcast Wednesday evening from Orlando Regional Medical Center, where victims of a horrific shooting in a Florida neighborhood were being treated.

Another local television journalist and a 9-year-old girl were tragically shot, while the child’s mother and another journalist were sent to the hospital in critical condition.

As she began her live coverage of the situation, Weekend WESH2 Anchor Luana Munoz stumbled, took a deep breath, and brought her palm to her breast as she apologized and fought back the tears. “This is quite difficult to conceal,” she added, disclosing that she had just embraced one of the victim’s fiancees. She continues, still fighting back the tears, “I’m not even going to turn the camera because it’s so emotional here.” “There are individuals here who saw the reporter, his fiancee, and I embrace, but I will add that it is good to see the media united at this moment. This is every reporter’s greatest nightmare,” she says with tears in her eyes. “We fear that something similar may occur at night, which is precisely what happened here.” She stated that family members and the fiancee of the deceased journalist were present and “very heartbroken” tonight. She concludes, “I’m sending it back to you so I can collect myself and get myself together.”
