Angel Carter, Bobbie Jean Carter’s “baby” sister, is devastated by her death.
Angel took to Instagram on Thursday to pay respect to her late sister, the third of her six siblings to die violently, after twin brother Aaron Carter in 2022 and older sister Leslie Carter in 2012, reflecting on the collective childhood trauma they faced.
Angel recalled Bobbie’s “great sense of humor and lively spirit,” and how she treated her like she was her “baby.”
“Life wasn’t fair to you, that I know. Sometimes, it feels like you didn’t have a shot, no matter what,” Angel said.
The bereaved sister went on to say that none of her late siblings had the “innocence” of childhood, instead being “burdened by trauma, pain, and suffering” that led to them turning to drugs.
“I know why Leslie, Aaron, and now you ended up in the circumstances that you did. I share that pain we experienced during childhood and I’m sorry you didn’t have an opportunity for a better life,” she said.
While the specific cause of Bobbie’s death is unknown, Angel urged her followers to face and break down barriers and stigma around mental health, which “starts with our children, and creating healthy conversation within the home.”
“I love you BJ, you’re free now,” she said.
The Carter family has continued to suffer significant losses, with matriarch Jane Carter disclosing Bobbie’s “sudden” death in Florida on Saturday.
She was 41 years old at the time.
