David Mayer de Rothschild and Angelina Jolie went out to lunch together.
On Thursday, the actress, who is 47 years old, and the British environmentalist, who is 44, were seen leaving Nobu in Malibu, California. Page Six said the time spent out was three hours.
Jolie was seen walking out of the place in a black dress with cutouts on the sides. She added a pair of black heels and a pair of black sunglasses to finish off the look.
Mayer de Rothschild, meanwhile, dressed in jeans, a blue shirt, and a blue jacket with black shoes to maintain an air of casual cool.
People asked Jolie’s representatives for a comment, but they didn’t reply immediately.
Jolie’s date with Mayer de Rothschild happened a few months after she said she was leaving her job as a Special Envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in December.
In a statement at the time, Jolie said she was “grateful for the privilege and opportunity I have had to work with so many outstanding and dedicated UNHCR field officers and other colleagues doing lifesaving work globally, and to serve as Special Envoy.”
A source close to the actress said that Jolie “decided to leave UNHCR so she can devote more of her efforts to supporting groups led by those most directly affected by conflict, to help empower them and lift their voices and leadership.” She has worked with organizations run by people in the area, such as the MJP Foundation in Cambodia, which she started in 2003.
“She will do a better job as an outsider,” said the source. “She has always been that way and cares more about the people than the system.”
Jolie has done many good things for people, including working with UNHCR since 2001. In 2012, she was named Special Envoy.
