Costume and production designer Anna-Lisa ‘Annaixe’ Guthrie and international model Drucillah ‘Dru’ Campbell were honoured with the Prime Minister’s National Youth Award for Excellence in Arts and Culture at this year’s ceremony, held on Saturday at Jamaica House.
Guthrie, known for her innovative costumes and viral creations, has been a creative force in the Caribbean space for more than a decade. Her recent announcement as a designer for SPIRIT Mas at the upcoming Trinidad and Tobago Carnival further cements her influence.
Campbell, a SAINT International model, was unable to attend the ceremony due to work commitments. Her mother, Terry-Ann Williams, collected the award on her behalf.
They were among four nominees in the Arts and Culture category, which also included Abigail Williams, a research and policy analyst with the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport and international model Suzanna ‘Zan’ Hyde.
The Prime Minister’s National Youth Awards for Excellence celebrates the achievements of outstanding young Jamaicans across a range of fields.
