Another great season for Clinton Yellowjacket tennis

It was another banner season for Tammy Johnson’s Clinton Yellowjacket tennis program. The 2023 season saw a district championship for the Yellowjackets boy’s tennis team, and several state tournament qualifiers for both the boy’s and the girl’s teams. The season was also one for the history books as the program had its first two qualifiers for the state overall tennis tournament.

Clinton took the boy’s team title at the district tournament held at Morrilton while also sweeping both the singles and doubles titles. Noah Calhoun, who went through the conference season undefeated in singles play, continued his dominance winning the district championship. In doubles play, seniors Sam Brown and Trammell Hastings rolled through the bracket to win the district doubles championship. The Yellowjackets and Lady Yellowjackets would combine to have eight players finish in the top 3 in the district and qualify for the state tournament.
