Jonathon Brooks received that award last year.
“I was so excited to be recognized and awarded the art scholarship,” says Brooks. After completing his home school education and receiving his diploma from Newport School District, Brooks went on to study art education at Spokane Community College. “The scholarship money helped jump start my college education.”
Along with the application, the applicant must submit five original works of art, a high school transcript, letter of recommendation from a teacher, and an essay about themselves. The essay should include what their artwork means to them, why they deserve the scholarship, and how they plan to finance the balance of your education.
The deadline to apply is April 25, 2024, by 7 p.m. For information and application, email the Evergreen Art Association Scholarship Committee at [email protected].
