VOCAL SHOWCASE – University of Mount Union’s Department of Performing Arts plans a fall vocal showcase at 3 p.m. Sunday in Presser Recital Hall, which is in Cope Music Hall at the Giese Center for the Performing Arts. The program will feature art songs, operatic arias and musical theatre selections by composers such as Bach, Bononcini, Coates, Copland, Donizetti, Durante, Gounod, Holmes, Ireland, Loewe, Mozart, Quilter, Schubert and Scarlatti. STARKFRESH FUNDRAISER – StarkFresh, a Canton-based nonprofit with a new store at The Commons, formerly Alliance Neighborhood Center, has announced its fall online auction will run Nov. 1-19. Auction items can be seen at starkfresh.org. When the auction ends, all items will be available for pickup by appointment after Nov. 20 at StarkFresh’s Food Justice Campus in downtown Canton. “With nearly 200 auction bundles being offered, there truly is something for everyone,” said Cathy Brown, fundraising chair and StarkFresh’s vice president.
ALLIANCE PLANNING – City of Alliance Planning Commission will meet at 4:33 p.m. Nov. 15 in the second-floor conference room of the Alliance Administration Building, 504 E. Main St. Purpose of the meeting is to discuss a request for a conditional use for a commercial property to be used for residential at 606 S. Union Ave. in the city. Request was filed by Carolyn Dugan.
