
Reports Of Armed Men Enter Ecuador’s University Of Guayaquil After TC Television Takeover, Classes Suspended

Meanwhile, the University Of Guayaquil in Ecuador suspended the classes citing procedural reasons in the wake of the emergency announced by Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa. The varsity informed about its decision through an official notification on the Meta-owned social platform Facebook.
“Given the moments of social unrest that are being experienced in the country, we inform the university community that all academic and administrative activities are suspended in all areas of the University of Guayaquil, the teleworking system will be implemented,” the University’s social notification read translated from Spanish.
Earlier, it was reported that Hooded gunmen burst onto a live TV set in Ecuador and warned the crew that they had bombs. They captured the staff present during the live show. Ecuador forces were seen outside the TC Television studios trying to take control of the situation. On Tuesday, hooded individuals with some brandishing firearms were captured on live television inside Ecuador’s TC Television studio in Guayaquil.
Following the attack on the TC Televisión channel, 13 persons were detained, according to police confirmation. What transpired was also referred to as “a terrorist act.” The journalists who had been abducted were freed, and no injuries were reported. The general from Ecuador declared, “They will be prosecuted at this moment.”
