GENEVA — St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy (SPCAA) is hosting an elegant evening of entertainment and decadently delicious desserts featuring the St. Peter’s Community Teen Choir singing Broadway Hits and Film Classics on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.
The event, “A Grand Night for Singing,” will begin on a “sweet note” with your choice of dessert and beverage. Wine will be available for a donation.
Socialize a bit before the show begins. You will then be treated to the sounds of music from such Broadway musicals as “Funny Girl,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Monty Python’s Spamalot,” “Sister Act” and some selections from Disney’s “Hunchback of Notre Dame.”
The Grand Night for Singing event is a fundraiser for the choir’s next trip to England, Scotland and Ireland this coming February. It will be the seventh time the St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy group has toured the UK. The first tour happened back in 1999 and has happened approximately every four years since then.
“St. Peter’s Grand Night for Singing has been one of the favorite performances of the SPCAA community for years. It was the first event we attended when we arrived on the scene at the parish,” said John Norvell, who has become a great fan and supporter of the academy. “We loved the program line up, and had no idea of all it took to stage it, but we were amazed by what was offered at the event, the sense of community, and how everything worked so well to showcase the St. Peter’s Choir. It was wonderful.”
Admission is $25 for adults/$20 for seniors/students, and children 12 and under are free. Additional donations are greatly appreciated.
The SPCAA is a non-profit organization serving the greater Geneva area with enrichment programs, lessons, and instruction in music and dance for all ages and abilities since 2005.
