MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – Live music filled the air in Marquette Friday evening. It was part of the open reception that kicked off Saturday’s U.P. Arts and Culture Conference.
The conference is held by the Upper Peninsula Arts and Culture Alliance. The group says it wants to increase your access to arts and culture in Upper Michigan. Its executive director, Philip Rice, says today’s reception offered interesting and worthwhile information to those who attended.
“There’s gonna be a lot of really valuable information for anybody who’s interested in making money in the arts, who’s interested in helping promote artists to help them make money, or anybody who just wants to help make their community a more lively place with better quality of life through arts and culture,” Rice said.
The U.P. Arts and Culture Conference is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Northern Center. You can register for the conference online or in-person until it begins.
