BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Arts Council of the Brazos Valley is undergoing a refresh.
It has changed its name to the Arts Center of the Brazos Valley.
The new name comes with a renewed mission to be a more community-inclusive space for artists and appreciators of art.
Moving forward, there will be a new logo design, renovated and expanded galleries, updated branding, and website updates.
The center‘s CEO Leslie Bowlin told KBTX the Arts Center also has a lot in the works for the upcoming year including a Japanese art festival in conjunction with a Japanese Bamboo Flute Festival that’ll happen at Texas A&M next spring.
“We’ve got lots of things cultural,” Bowlin hinted. “We’re trying to make sure that all of the arts are covered, not just the visual arts but everything from music to film, poetry, you name it… Culinary. It’s all art.”
The center will also introduce new adult programs, reinstitute classes like watercolor and photography, and expand its outreach to more counties.
In addition, there will be a new, evolving mural outside of the center. Currently, it reflects warm-colored strips, but the colors will change each month.
“The idea is that we’re constantly changing and focusing on what we can do to engage the community,” added Bowlin.
