The Transylvania Community Arts Council, located at 349 Caldwell St., Brevard, is now presenting the Summer Showcase of the Transylvania Art Guild. Member artists submit their latest and best works to a juror who recognizes exemplary pieces of art. The opening reception was held on Friday, May 23. The exhibit is open to the public through June 21.
First place was awarded to Mary Alice Braukman for her mixed media work titled “Flutter Byes.” Sharyn Fogel received second place for her watercolor titled “Family Farm.” Third Place was presented to Eric Barron for his oil painting “Human Nature Interaction.” Honorable mentions were Judy Mowery for “In the Moment,” mixed media; Jeanne Hunter for “Evening on the Marsh,” pastel and Julie Sanders for “The Garden Gate,” mixed media.
