ASAP Rocky Will Face Charges for Firing at a Childhood Buddy

A$AP Rocky will stand trial after prosecutors unveiled previously unseen surveillance footage of the rapper brandishing a gun to his former comrade, A$AP Relli.

According to People Magazine, the Fashion Killa rapper, 35, is accused of firing a semi-automatic weapon at his longtime buddy and plaintiff A$AP Relli following a heated argument in 2021.

The judge found that there was’sufficient evidence’ against Rocky, né Rakim Athelaston Mayers, during the preliminary hearing in Los Angeles on Monday.

Relli, a former member of the hip-hop collective A$AP Mob, alleged in court that he was hit by bullet fragments after the argument and sought medical assistance at a hospital in New York City.

Rocky and Relli were childhood buddies who attended high school together in New York City.

Rocky, on the other hand, has pleaded not guilty to two charges of assault with a handgun in August 2022. The Praise the Lord rapper’s trial is set to begin on January 8.

The hearing comes only two days after Rocky bragged about his family with Rihanna at the Formula One Grand Prix in Las Vegas on Saturday.

“I think we do a real great job at collaborating, making children,” he told Complex Magazine. “I think that’s our best creation so far! Nothing is better than that out there, any design.”
