The Eileen Garnett Civic Space in Annandale is becoming the place to be this summer, with events scheduled every month.
The most recent event, hosted by Fairfax County’s Community Revitalization Section, was an Asian Heritage Festival on May 24 with live cultural performances, food vendors, martial arts demonstrations, and crafts.
The county’s next event, Movie Night, is scheduled for June 14, 8 p.m., at the Eileen Garnett Park at 7200 Columbia Pike next to the fire station. There will be free popcorn and a food truck.
The Community Revitalization Section is asking to the public to vote for the movie they want for the event.
The choices are Ferdinand, The Greatest Showman, Ice Age, Robots, The Princess Bride, The Sandlot, and Rio 2. Vote here.
The pet-friendly Dog Days of Summer event will be July 19, 1-4 p.m.
Meanwhile, the NVA Thai Center is hosting monthly street festivals at the Eileen Garnett Park featuring the food and arts of Thailand. The next one is June 15, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
