At least 6 dead after car crash in Beckham County


BECKHAM COUNTY, Okla. — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) said six people are dead after a crash that happened on Nov. 21 outside of Elk City.

OHP said the crash happened around 3:06 p.m. at the intersection of Route 66 N and OK 34, three miles west of Elk City.

According to OHP, 43-year-old Jose Paxtor of Los Angeles, California, was driving a 2015 Toyota Sienna with seven passengers when the crash happened.

OHP said six of Paxtor’s seven passengers died:

  • A 16-year-old male from Oklahoma City died at the scene.
  • 23-year-old Kimberly Sloresvilva Xol-Ehub of Camden, New Jersey, died at the scene.
  • A 17-year-old male from Camden died at the scene.
  • 26-year-old Rutilia Tzud-Xol of Camden died at the scene.
  • A 6-year-old girl from Camden died at the scene.
  • 35-year-old Geremias Choc-Sagui of Camden died at the scene.

OHP also said a 4-year-old girl from Camden was taken to the hospital in critical condition with arm, head, torso and leg injuries.

Paxtor was taken to the hospital for arm injuries and was treated and released, OHP said.

OHP said the other car in the crash was a 2021 Ford F250 pickup, driven by 40-year-old Phillip Shepard of Sayre.

Shepard was not injured in the crash, OHP said.

What happened and what caused the crash is still under investigation, OHP said.
