Angeline Doh, manager of Atrium Health Navicent’s Healthy Communities, says the event is free and open to the community.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Atrium Health Navicent is hosting a community food distribution drive-thru at the Atrium Health Amphitheater.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on June 13. Attendees should enter from Bloomfield Road and follow the signage for the free food distribution event.
The distribution is first come, first served while supplies last. The event is drive-thru only; no walk-ups are allowed.
Angeline Doh, manager of Atrium Health Navicent’s Healthy Communities, said the event is free and open to the community.
Doh said Bibb County residents are facing the issue of nutritional security. She said community members can find food, but it is not always nutritional.
Doh said she hopes the food distribution allows community members to try new produce and educate themselves on different food choices.
There will be 120,000 pounds of food given out at the food distribution event, and attendees will take home nearly 40 pounds of food.
