Attack on Inmate Ian Watkins in Prison

According to reports, singer Ian Watkins was stabbed in jail while serving a 29-year term for child sex crimes.

BBC says that Prison Officers Association vice-chair Dave Todd didn’t say anything about the attack on Watkins.

Todd said that he was worried about workers and prisoners because of the growing number of bad things happening in jails.

Watkins went to jail in 2013 because he had done several child sex crimes, including trying to rape a baby. He was given a sentence of 29 years in prison and six more years on probation, but he will be able to get out after spending two-thirds of the time.

The two other people on trial with the shamed rock star were the mothers of the children he abused. They got 14 and 17 years in prison.

Justice Royce said that the case “broke new ground” and “plunged into new depths of depravity” when he gave the sentence.

During the trial, Watkins admitted to trying to rape and sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13, but he denied raping the kid. In 2014, Watkins asked the court to shorten the time he had to spend in jail. The judges said no.
