Attorney for Chiefs’ Rashee Rice to speak about Dallas car crash Thursday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – An attorney representing Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is expected to speak about a six-vehicle crash that injured four people on a Dallas-area highway.

The news conference is expected to begin at 1:30 p.m. central time on Thursday.

The planned news conference is scheduled to take place a day after Rice posted his first public statement on Instagram since the crash.

“Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident,” Rice said Wednesday in an Instagram story on his account, @doub11e_r. “I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities.

“I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.”

Tuesday, a Dallas exotic car rental company said Rice was leasing a Lamborghini SUV that authorities said was one of two speeding sports cars that caused a chain-reaction crash on a Dallas highway. The crash happened just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Four people in the other vehicles were treated for minor injuries.

Reportedly, the occupants of both the Corvette and Lamborghini “ran from the scene without stopping to determine if anyone needed medical help.”
