Auburn basketball predicted to finish sixth in preseason poll

College Basketball season is upon us, and media predictions are beginning to surface.

The SEC preseason media poll has been released, and the Auburn Tigers are projected to finish sixth this season, one spot below rival Alabama and one spot ahead of Mississippi State.

During his turn at the podium on Wednesday at SEC Media Days, head coach Bruce Pearl said that he has a 10-man rotation currently, which leaves him with a “tough decision to make.” He has not decided on the grouping of the rotation, and his team appears to already be at peace with whatever decision Pearl makes.

“We’ve got so much parity, so much competition in each position, I’m not sure they want to know — which I think is a good thing,” Pearl said when asked about the rotation.

Senior center Johni Broome was also named first-team All-SEC by the media. Broome returns to Auburn after scoring 14.2 points per game last season with 8.2 rebounds and a free-throw percentage of 56%.
