The depths of nature can sometimes be a beautiful yet mystical place. While it’s hard to imagine anything but admiration for this vast and other-worldly environment, discovering some of the beauty that can be found within these forest-like areas are truly never-ending.
Award-winning Malaysian photographer Mohan Raj Nair has made a renowned name for himself in the wildlife industry. Over the numerous years of his career, some of Mohan’s photos have even been featured by photography company Canon Malaysia.
Aside from that, he has also received honours such as winning Best Photo Award at the 35Awards National Photography Award as well as the IPA Nature and Wildlife Photography Award in 2021. Despite his luminary presence online, a recent series of images and clips have been making waves online after Mohan shared a trip he made to Kahang Forest in Johor and the Taiping Lake Garden in Perak.
Posting these images to his Instagram page @mohan_wildlife, Mohan had originally gone to the forest of Johor with an intention to capture images of elephants who inhabit the area. In Perak, Mohan managed to get the lucky opportunity to photograph other wildlife creatures as well, including the dusky leaf monkey and painted storks.
Speaking on one of his proudest accomplishments during the trip to Taiping, Mohan stated that he had waited an astounding three days before being able to find and capture images of a Rhinoceros Hornbill, which also happens to be the national bird of Malaysia.
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Mohan stated that he had originally pursued wildlife photography back in 2019, after getting stuck in Singapore for a period of time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Emphasising on consistency, patience and hard work, Mohan was also forthright in stating how much effort goes into capturing these images of rare wildlife.
“When you have spent countless hours in nature documenting wildlife, it can get really addictive, as your passion speaks more than your personality,” added the creator.
Attaining significant praise for his work, many Malaysians commented on how beautiful Mohan’s photos were after visiting these locations.
“No words to describe the beauty of nature!” wrote one user.
