During a recent appearance on an NBC show, Barry Manilow fueled speculations about cosmetic surgery.

On Monday, Dec. 11, the 80-year-old singer performed a Christmas special called A Very Barry Christmas, in which he sang out interpretations of traditional Christmas carols as well as his own well-known classics.

Despite his spirited performance, fans were distracted by his unusual appearance and apparent inability to open his mouth easily.

In a discussion on X, then known as Twitter, supporters blamed it on cosmetic surgery, most likely Botox, and pleaded with Manilow to back off on the treatment.

“Barry manilow needed to stop botox a long time ago [sic],” stated one of The Sun’s tweets.

Another person said: “I love Barry Manilow – God bless his 80 year old self – but he has so much Botox in his face he can barely open his mouth.”

This isn’t the first time the iconic singer’s appearance has stirred speculations; in 2019, admirers noted his expressionless appearance when he interacted with them after one of his Broadway shows.

Later, it was found that he had been discreetly battling in his personal life, notably having ‘terrible battles’ with his manager-husband Garry Kief.
