Evangel Christian 53, Crenshaw Christian 52

Tylon Shine’s free throw with 8.4 seconds remaining provided the game-winning point as the Lions defeated Crenshaw Christian 53-52 in the Evangel Christian gym on Saturday afternoon.

Shine finished with 13 points.

Will McCord scored 18 points to lead Evangel Christian, while Andre Stoddard added seven points.

The Lions (3-3) will play host to Autauga Academy on Monday before traveling to Glenwood on Tuesday.

Dothan 62, Prattville 39

PRATTVILLE — The Wolves jumped out to an early lead and handed Prattville its second area loss in Powell Gym on Friday.

Xavier Dunn had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Lions, which trailed 27-14 at the half and never recovered. Ty Bryant and Isaiah Bradley added eight points each.

Prattville dropped to 0-2 in 7A Area 3 play.

Prattville (1-10) remains home to face Wetumpka on Tuesday before traveling to Prattville Christian on Thursday.

Pelham 75, Prattville 65

PRATTVILLE — Prattville trimmed a 13-point halftime deficit to three points heading into the final quarter but couldn’t ride the momentum to a win in Thursday’s 75-65 loss to Pelham in Powell Gym.

Ty Bryant had 30 points, hitting 4 of 7 3-pointers to lead the Lions, along with four assists. Jess Smyth added 15 points, followed by Isaiah Bradley with 11 points.

Xavier Dunn led the Lions on the boards with eight rebounds. Donovan Brown had six rebounds.

Prattville (1-9) remains home to play Dothan on Friday.
