Basketball roundup: Wiseburn and Palos Verdes boys to meet in tournament final


Ahmose Daniels scored 20 points and three others reached double figures to lead the Wiseburn Da Vinci boys basketball team to an 82-42 win over Crenshaw in the semifinals of the Wolves’ tournament.

Wiseburn will face Palos Verdes Saturday at 6 p.m. in a matchup of two teams in the Daily Breeze Top 10. The Wolves are eighth and the Sea Kings are ninth.

Amir Grant finished with eight points and eight rebounds.

PALOS VERDES 66, EL SEGUNDO 55: Telmo Corral led the Sea Kings with 20 points, Alex Hassanein finished with 13 and Max Sinfield had nine with seven rebounds in the win at the Wiseburn Tournament.

Will Jurczak finished with eight points.

MIRA COSTA 70, CREAN LUTHERAN 53: Eneasi Piuleini and Jacob De Armas scored 19 points apiece in the win at the Beach Bonanza. Luke Hammerschmidt had10 points and 10 rebounds.

CAMARILLO 53, ROLLING HILLS PREP 41: Terell Hopkins led RHP with 13 points and Mateo Trujillo finished with nine.

DIAMOND RANCH 59, WEST TORRANCE 51: Francesco Monzon scored 11 points and Genki Narimoto and Jaxon Ida finished with eight and seven, respectively for the Warriors.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

BISHOP MONTGOMERY 56, REDONDO 41: Sophia Dignadice scored 14 points and Jordin Blackmon and Cyriah Coleman had 11 apiece for the Knights.

LEUZINGER 67, HARVARD-WESTLAKE 49: The Olympians bounced from Wednesday’s loss to Windward at the Battle at the Beach.

Dresha Moore led the Olympians with 23 points. Madison Watts had 16, Leah Sarabia recorded a triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Andrea Lopez had 10 points. Moore also had 13 rebounds.
