Electronic component specialist Arrow Electronics has built a new online resource for battery management system designers, which will offer support services and downloadable papers written by companies in Arrow’s ecosystem. The repository will help customers ensure their BMS projects meet all the critical requirements – including functional safety, efficiency, battery lifetime and charging time.
“Battery management is central to the electrification of everything, the defining megatrend of our time as we switch to renewable energy to preserve the world’s resources and climate,” said Ulrich Lentz, technology field applications engineer for BMS at Arrow Electronics. “Customers developing BMS, either commercially or for their own end products, can rely on our curated resources to get the knowledge and support they need.”

As Arrow Electronics notes, BMS design knowledge and best practices continue to evolve. Arrow’s web-based knowledge repository and support portal aids developers in navigating the available options. The online hub can be accessed now and will be continuously grown.
The first design paper in Arrow’s BMS-focused series, How does a battery management system work?, is available here. A detailed overview of Arrow’s guide to battery management systems (BMS), is also available to download.
