Open season
Music at The Backstage open mic was in top form on April 9 as artists from around the Bay-Area dabbled with original compositions or showcased their finely tuned works. Leading the way were members of Deja Blu accompanied by Frank Montano, the locally acclaimed guitar virtuoso from Red Cliff. Following after were local standouts including host Liz Woodworth who introduced an original work reminiscent of peak Carole King. The recently retired Woodward would remark, after a thunderous applause from appreciative fans, that it might be time for her to get back into the studio. The Backstage is open virtually every Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. as a forum for accomplished and aspiring musicians, rappers, and poets to work on and present material.
