BELFAST — Belfast Maskers will hold open auditions for its first play of the 2024 season, “Proof” by David Auburn. There are two opportunities to audition at the Basil Burwell Community Theater, 17 Court St.; the first will be Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon and the second will be Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Stephanie Natale will cast and direct the production. “A play about math and madness, ‘Proof’ is a meaty script about the depths of human experience in the darkest areas of the brain — and the lightest areas of the heart,” said Natale. “Be prepared to dig deep so we can represent this stellar work by David Auburn with authenticity as he deals with love, death and hope.”
