The Department of the Environment held a workshop today as Belize assumed the presidency of the Mesoamerican Integration and Development project this year. One of the activities the project entails is the formation of an environmental education plan that can be implemented within the country. The meeting sought to provide stakeholders with the opportunity to contribute to the plan and bring awareness to environmental conservation. Edgar Eck, the DOE’s Deputy Chief, spoke on the importance of pushing environmental protection.
DOE brought in experts from different ministries and departments to curate the plan in unison, looking at different approaches to sensitize and educate the masses. Eck elaborated on how everyone’s contributions matter
