NASHVILLE — Berrien tennis has always had a home of its own, but now Berrien tennis will have a home of its own on its own campus.

Rebelettes head coach Jarrett Luke announced that Berrien will play its first matches on its own courts Tuesday, facing off against Ware County at 4 p.m.

Luke was not sure how long it had been since Berrien hosted tennis on its own campus, but figured it might have been a couple of decades ago. In recent years, the teams played on courts behind Hardee’s in Nashville.

While there were courts on Berrien’s campus there were not nearly enough to accommodate modern high school tennis, which plays three singles and doubles matches per each team. There are 10 courts at the modern facility.

Tennis has been one of the most successful sports lately at Berrien. The Rebelettes have been to the state finals twice in the sport, including in 2023.
