Water, conservation projects government funding overview:

The federal government announced earlier this month that it will be providing more than $192 million in funding to restore land and water and invest in water resources and ecosystem health.
Among the funding, a total of 74 grants worth a total of $141.3 million will go towards supporting landscape-scale conservation projects spread out across 46 states, three U.S. territories and 21 Tribal Nations, according to U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI).
The grants have been attained through the America the Beautiful Challenge (ATBC), which was created by the Biden administration in 2021 as a goal to conserve 30% of all lands and waters in the US by 2030.
ATBC grants go towards supporting projects that aim to conserve, restore and connect wildlife habitats and ecosystems, while making efforts to improve a community’s resilience and access to nature, according to the DOI.
The grants were announced by the Biden administration in partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and both public and private sector partners.
Department of Interior announces $51 million in funding for water resource projects across 11 states
The DOI also announced that $51 million will be used from the Biden administration’s Investing in America agenda to fund 30 new environmental water resource projects across 11 states that will be conducted by the Bureau of Reclamation.
The projects will be collaborative and have a focus on water conservation, water management and restoration efforts that are meant to significantly benefit watershed health or the ecosystem, according to the DOI.
“Adequate, resilient and safe water supplies are fundamental to the health, economy and security of every community in our nation,” said Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, in a statement.
