Big: Culture & Arts Festival opens ticket options for April event

For the third year, Big: Culture & Arts Festival will present music, dancing and visual arts in downtown Gainesville on April 11 and 12.

The festival will feature three different stages with local and national artists to perform on them. Tickets went on sale earlier this week, and organizers said there’s limited availability until the end of February.

This year’s festival will include performances by The Alchemist, Yedoye, Wiki, Animal Prince, 00Jordie, MIKE, Navy Blue, Annabelle Kline, Elijah Fox, Pink Siifu and Pearl & the Oysters. A circus theme will permeate the event with stilt walkers and fire breathers.

“We aim to offer a dynamic experience that goes beyond an audience standing in a field

watching music on a stage. Big is more like a cultural amusement park,” co-founder Jahi Khalfani said in a release.

The festival is produced by Laila Fakhoury, Jahi and Khary Khalfani, who co-own How Bazar and Dion Dia Records.

This year’s festival will also include a circus-themed streetwear fashion show with local models and Florida designers, an indoor skatepark and car show.
