The new year brings with it a full lineup at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Here are just a few productions and performances coming up 2025.

Clique bait

Tina Fey’s musical “Mean Girls,” adapted from the hit 2004 Paramount Pictures film, takes the stage Jan 10 to 12 as part of American Theatre Guild’s Broadway in Thousand Oaks series.

The story tells the tale of Cady Heron, who’s grown up on an African savanna but is not at all prepared for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. To rise to the top of the pecking order, she takes on The Plastics, a trio of frenemies led by a charming but ruthless queen bee. Cady learns the hard way that you can’t cross a queen bee without getting stung. Tickets run from $65 to $122.

Dog days in T.O.

Grammy-nominated Three Dog Night (“Mama Told Me (Not to Come),” “Joy to the World,” “Shambala” and “One”) is now in its fifth decade and claims some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music.

In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group achieved more Top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets. The legendary band returns to the Kavli Theater Fri., Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $45 to $75.

Tomorrow is a Latter day

The outrageous “Book of Mormon,” about the adventures of a mismatched pair of missionaries sent halfway across the world to spread the good word, makes its way back to Thousand Oaks Feb. 6 to 9.

The musical comedy by Robert Lopez and “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone has become one of the most successful shows in Broadway history, having won nine Tony Awards including Best Musical. For show times and ticket prices, which vary by show, go to ticketmaster.com.

Gotta’ Lovett

Four-time Grammy-winning singer, composer and actor Lyle Lovett brings his acoustic group to the Kavli at 7 p.m. Mon., March 3. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, he has evolved into one of music’s most vibrant and iconic performers.

Though Lovett’s Grammy awards span the years, with his being named Best Country Male Vocal in 1989, he’s likely best known by the younger crowd for his 1995 duet “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” with Randy Newman for the animated film “Toy Story.” Tickets begin at $57.

Bless her heart

Comedienne and Tennessee native Heather Land brings her sarcastic wit and southern charm to the Scherr Forum on Sat, April 19. From ex-husbands to failed diets, her take on topics delivers comedy in a charming, self-deprecating style that has made her adored by millions of people of all ages. Land has a knack for finding the funny out of the frustrating. Tickets are $45-$55.

Keep on truckin’

Comedy veteran Tom Papa, whose most recent Netflix stand-up special, “Home Free,” premiered Oct. 29, brings his new Grateful Bread Tour to the Kavli Theatre, Sat., April 26. Tickets are $39.50 to $62.50. Papa is the host of the weekly podcast “Breaking Bread With Tom Papa,” which features Papa and guests like Roy Wood Jr., Lisa Kudrow, Jerry Seinfeld and Moon Unit Zappa eating, drinking and celebrating the true meaning of breaking bread with insightful, revealing and always-funny conversations.

Big name in comedy

Looking far ahead, comedian Brad Williams brings his Growth Spurt Tour to the Kavli Theater on Sat., Aug. 2. Williams offers his perspective on life’s quirks, cleverly navigating through his experiences as a little person while dealing with relationships and everyday situations. His humorous and inspiring observations on disability, sex and race consistently elicits standing ovations from audience members. Tickets range from $29.50 to $55.
