
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The Birmingham Squadron have signed center Daniel Giddens, former Crimson Tide men’s basketball player, by way of the available player pool with a roster hardship exception, according to a Tuesday announcement via press release.
Giddens most recently competed with the Japanese team Sanen Neophoenix and averaged 5.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per contest in 41 games played with 13 starts. Before his lone season in Japan, the 6-11, 240-pound center played two professional seasons in Switzerland.
The Mariette, Ga., native began his collegiate career at Ohio State before transferring to Alabama and finishing at Vermont, where he helped the Catamounts capture the 2019-20 America East regular season conference title.
Squadron’s newest member will wear the No. 7 jersey and becomes active immediately.
