Birmingham teen dead after police pursuit ends in car crash


BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – A Birmingham teen is dead after being an occupant in a car crash on Friday. 

According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Hajsun Jermale Hudson, Jr., 18, was one of four occupants in a car that collided with a tree on 6th Avenue North at 5th Street North in Lipscomb at 11:54 a.m. Friday.

At the time of the wreck, the vehicle was being pursued by the Lipscomb Police for speeding and reckless driving.  

Hudson was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m. on Saturday.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the wreck.
