Paris Olympics ignites Chinese enthusiasm for France tours 【Voice_over】 The upcoming 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris have become a major draw for Chinese tourists looking to plan an unforgettable summer vacation this year. With Chinese students’ summer holidays coinciding with the late July start of the games, travel agents in Shanghai say it’s become a popular destination, with a surge in demand for visa application services as a result. 【Sound_bite】 Huang Ling, Manager, Travel agency: “We had noticed a rise in visa applications before May Day holiday. Some of our clients have bought the tickets for Olympics Games and asked us to help them with visa applications.” 【Voice_over】 Another travel agent confirms the trend saying flights and hotel rooms are being snapped up in the final weeks before the event. 【Sound_bite】 Wang Yiming, Director, Public Relations, travel website: “We saw a 240 percent increase in flight bookings to Paris and a 180 percent increase in the hotel reservations compared with same period of last year.” 【Voice_over】 The games will take place in the French capital from July 26 to Aug. 11, and will be followed by the Paralympic Games from Aug. 28 to Sept. 8.
