For The Fem In You, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering safe spaces for BIPOC womxn and LGBTQ+ individuals in the creative arts and small business communities, is hosting BLACK AF—a dynamic celebration of Black love, artistry, and resilience. The event will take place on February 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Diversity Richmond, located at 1407 Sherwood Ave, Richmond, VA 23220.
BLACK AF is designed as an immersive experience that uplifts Black voices and showcases Black excellence through a fusion of visual arts, live performances, and holistic wellness offerings. The event seeks to serve as both a cultural celebration and a fundraiser supporting For The Fem In You’s ongoing mission to empower Black creatives and entrepreneurs.
“BLACK AF was created to be an unapologetic space of joy, resistance, and expression,” said Andrea Daughtry, Founder and Executive Director of For The Fem In You. “Our goal is to not only highlight Black artists and entrepreneurs but to also provide a sanctuary where creativity, love, and identity thrive without barriers.”
Attendees can look forward to a diverse lineup of activities and attractions, including:
- A curated exhibition featuring both emerging and established Black artists
- Live music, poetry, and performances
- DJs spinning throughout the event
- A Zen Zone featuring Black women in wellness
- Small business pop-ups showcasing Black-owned brands
