Moodier tones are continuing to play a major role in our design aesthetic, adding drama and decadence where you didn’t think you needed it. And OK, we’re still lamenting the end of The Traitors’ second series.
Black is supremely sophisticated, elegant and always in fashion – and no better is this now witnessed than in the array of homeware hits available online and on the high street.
The very definition of a pared-back tone, we like our hue to be matte, which adds to its sophistication level.
Teaming other colours with black can be difficult – you don’t want to detract from what it’s going anymore than distracting from the brighter tone. If you are planning to add a few subtle touches, more burnishes, almost burnt tones, will look great – such as amber or burnt orange.
And of course, white or muted paler tones will ensure that black rimmed mirrors, frames and framed mirrors stand out for the right reasons.
