BLACKPINK Members Paused Group Activities to Focus on Solo Journey

Despite just renewing their contract with entertainment agency YG, BLACKPINK members are eager to strike out on their own.

Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa extended their contracts to pursue group activities as a successful South Korean female group in the fall of last year.

However, the quintet has a myriad of initiatives and activities in the works to expand their standalone portfolio.

Jennie and Lisa launched out 2024 by announcing their individual agency, and according to Korean source News 1, Rosé will follow suit and declare her own in the near future.

Meanwhile, Jisoo, the group’s oldest member, has left an indelible imprint in both the Korean acting and advertising industries.

She last starred in the suspense film Omniscient Reader’s Perspective in December of last year, following her debut in the Korean drama Snowdrop.

The Flower vocalist also represents a number of products and companies, including Biomom, a health functional food brand for infants and children founded by Jisoo’s older brother, and entertainment company Blissoo.

Lisa will follow in Jisoo’s footsteps and showcase her acting abilities in the famed Hollywood series The White Lotus.

According to a source, “it is expected that it will be difficult to see the entire Blackpink members this year.”

“As we have just finished official activities as a complete group and are starting anew, I understand that all members have a great desire to take on a new challenge,” they went on to say.

“However, as the members are aware of the fans’ expectations for the complete Blackpink group,” the insider went on to say, “Discussions on this will take place periodically.”
