Blackpink’s Jennie Is Invited to This Year’s Cannes Film Festival

Blackpink’s Jennie was invited to the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival’s Out of Competition section. But whether or not she goes to the festival is still up in the air.

On April 13, they announced the invited productions for this year. One of them was the HBO show The Idol, in which Jennie plays a role.

The Weeknd and Sam Levinson from Euphoria worked together to make The Idol. It’s about a young singer named Jocelyn, played by Lily-Rose Depp, who falls in love with a charismatic cult leader, played by The Weeknd. Jennie makes her acting debut both at home and abroad with this series.

Jennie’s management company, YG Entertainment, said this about whether or not she would be there: “She was invited. Whether she will attend or not is yet to be decided.”
