With the official arrival of spring, we all start to feel revitalized, energetic, and with a renewed hope drawn from nature permeating our minds, spirits, and homes. It’s a seasonal shift that can feel so powerful and inspiring. No wonder Seoul-based Blue Balcony Design Studio felt called to create its latest designs inspired by nature’s fierce intention and purpose when in bloom. Comprising the release are two desktop mobiles aptly named Flower Vase, in color combinations Our Youth and Calmness, as well as a series of six Wall Hooks and Flower Magnets with complementary hues.
With an element of lightness reminiscent of the great Alexander Calder, the mobiles consist of a sculptural black wooden base that supports the balance of a few abstract shapes, one of which resembles a flower. “As I watched the flowers burst into bloom with the arrival of spring after enduring the cold winter, I felt inspired to capture their radiant moment with all my heart,” the studio recalls. After three years of planning and production, the desktop mobile adds playfulness and whimsy to any space.
Blue Balcony expanded on the design of the mobile with the addition of wall hooks and magnets – shapes found on the mobile that translate well to adorn walls and magnetic surfaces alike. Using just one of these objects instantly brightens a space, but like the mobiles, a mix of shapes maximizes their impact for an unforgettable moment.
