BOCES Auto Technology Program Receives Special Donation from Matthews Auto

BOCES Auto Technology Program received quite the donation today as Matthews Auto donated a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder to work on in class.

The program will use the new pathfinder to work on driver assistance systems, such as parking sensors, steering and suspension, and it’s brakes. The new car gives students updated technology to learn with as many of the program’s vehicles are from 10-15 years ago.

The BOCES Auto Technology program helps prepare students for entry-level employment or further education in the automobile industry.

“In general I’m looking forward to learning new things you know different system games. I came here because I in general wanted to learn how to be able to do things by myself,” Freshman in the BOCES Auto Technology Program Imani Freeman said. “But, you know, since I’ve been here, I’m actually looking forward to being in a field. So being able to learn new stuff, especially with newer cars, it’s basically refreshing and I can’t wait to do it.”
