Kalamazoo Public Safety recovered an unidentified body from the Kalamazoo River Tuesday.
Public safety officers found the body near East Paterson Street and Riverview Drive, according to the department.
Pedestrian struck, killed on US-131 near Wayland
Michigan State Troopers from the Wayland Post are investigating a fatal traffic crash that happened Thursday night around 7:55 p.m. north of Wayland.
The driver of a white Buick LaCrosse was traveling north on US-131 when the vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian on the freeway, state police said.
Kalamazoo Public Safety battles car fire at Bronson parking ramp
Pillars of black smoke filled the air above Bronson’s parking ramp in Kalamazoo Thursday afternoon.
Public safety officers were called to the Vine Street parking ramp for a car fire around 3 p.m., officials said.

Allegan County deputies identify body found on Lake Michigan shoreline
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday they have identified a body that washed up on a Lake Michigan shoreline on Feb. 14.
Using dental records, investigators identified the body as 21-year-old Elijah Ramone Looper, who was last seen in Chicago on Nov. 15, 2023.
West Michigan school district addresses parent fears over student seizures, tremors
Parents with students enrolled in Quincy Community Schools recently went to the district over concerns that some of their children have been experiencing seizures, tremors, and other neurological symptoms.
